Brian Svendsen is a Weekend Anchor and Multimedia Journalist with NBC 23 and CBS 4, bringing stories that matter to the Rio Grande Valley to life. After moving from Austin, he has grown to appreciate the strong sense of community and culture the Valley offers, especially as it is his wife's hometown. Brian holds degrees in Digital Media Design from Texas State Technical College and Mass Communication from the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, where he discovered his passion for reporting while working at the student television station KVAQ. Since joining NBC 23 and CBS 4 in 2022, he has covered major stories impacting residents and continues to grow as a journalist. As a weekend anchor, Brian is committed to serving the Valley by informing, connecting, and sharing the stories that shape the community.
