Workplace Campaign

Every year, thousands of employees in our community get involved in the workplace giving campaign to support United Way solutions that improve education, financial stability and health.

The United Way workplace campaign unites employees in all offices or branches of a company, and gives them an opportunity to donate, volunteer and speak out for causes that matter to them. You can see the results in your own backyard, even as you're part of a larger mission to affect change worldwide. The workforce campaign is about more than raising money for worthy causes; it also strengthens connections between employees and the community. At United Way of Southern Cameron County we are all about results! Last year, over 270 IRS-certified volunteers filed 5, 159 tax returns bringing over $10 million back to working families in our community through our VITA program. Our partnership with FamilyWize helped 1,550 local people save over $66,000 on their prescription by using our free FamilyWize Prescription Discount Cards. We helped 32,000 individuals in crisis have access to food, clothing and showers through our funded programs. UWSCC distributed over 2,000 books to children in efforts to prevent the summer slide. This year through uncertainty and crisis, United Way of Southern Cameron County and partners strategized and pivoted to serve our community. United Against Hunger is an initiative led by UWSCC to tackle one of our communities biggest problems ---food insecurity. Together, UAH has distributed over 30,000 food pantry bags, served over 31,000 hot meals and added capacity to agencies, soup kitchens and local food pantries by hiring furloughed workers through our Get Shift Done program. United We Win!
