Daniella Lopez Valdez, Executive Director of the Mitte Cultural District
Daniella Lopez Valdez is a Brownsville native who is passionate about providing the best leadership for the community. She moved to Dallas to attend Southern Methodist University. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Advertising and Economic Sociology and a minor in Fashion Media, she pursued leadership roles in the corporate retail world and was the youngest in her position by 30 years. She oversaw a multichannel marketing strategy for two divisions accounting for $1.1 billion dollars of total retail and e-commerce revenue while managing teams of vice presidents, directors, and assistants. After 10 years in Dallas, her husband, Hector Valdez, and she returned to Brownsville. Daniella started her own marketing consulting business, Style House Media, where she has launched environmental campaigns like Blue Turtle Project, a company that vows to pick up 2.2 pounds of plastic from the local waterways and establish microeconomics to help the environment in both the United States and Mexico. She is a graduate from Leadership Brownsville Class XXXV, a member of Connect BTX, and Gladys Porter Zoo. She is currently the Executive Director of the Mitte Cultural District whose mission is to promote and enhance artistic, historical, cultural, and educational activities within the community. She is part of the Policy Committee, the Budget Committee, and the Special Education/504 Committee at Brownsville ISD. During her term, she has helped pass historic raises for our teachers and pass innovative policies including Parental Leave for Brownsville ISD employees. She is a proud mom of two children, Luca and Amaya Valdez, and hopes to continue to advocate for a prosperous future for our community.
