Board of Directors Elects Eight New Members

United Way of Southern Cameron County's Board of Directors elected eight new members for three-year terms beginning July 1, 2016. Immediate Past Chair, Dahlia Aguilar, chaired the Nominating Committee. Newly elected directors are:

  • Teri Alarcon, Area Assistant Superintendent for Brownsville ISD
  • Eric Garza, Cameron County District Clerk and 2016 United Way Campaign Chair
  • Dr. Norma Ibarra, Principal, Hanna Early College High School
  • Rose Longoria, Principal, Pace Early College High School
  • Bea Lopez, Manager, HEB Central Boulevard
  • Carla Mancha, CEO, Housing Authority of the City of Brownsville
  • Melinda Rodriguez, CFRE, President/CEO, Brownsville Chamber of Commerce
  • Norma Zamora, Director, Brownsville Metro

Current members whose terms are expiring on June 30, 2016 are Dahlia Aguilar, Fernando Balli, and Leonardo Perez.

Board officers for 2016-17 are:
