Healthy Children

A healthy start for infants is a key goal of the Infant and Family Nutrition Agency, a program funded by United Way of Southern Cameron County. At the Stork's Nest, mothers of infants receive support, guidance and reassurance as they learn to breastfeed their babies. Mothers who worry that their babies aren't receiving enough milk are comforted when they come to the center and their baby is weighed before and after feeding, so they can see proof of exactly how much milk the baby is receiving. In addition to breastfeeding support, IFNA teaches classes on healthy eating and meal preparation for local families.
