The Marist Youth of Saint Joseph Academy outdid themselves again this year by donating 100 Snack Packs to United Way of Southern Cameron County to distribute to Brownsville ISD children at risk of going hungry over the school holidays. According to an article in The Brownsville Herald, "SJA students, faculty and staff make the snack packs a school project during the weeks in December prior to Christmas break. They fundraise at school or buy snack-pack items themselves and bring them to school. Then, in assembly-line fashion, they fill the bags and give them to BISD to distribute."
Saint Joseph Academy was one of the first organizations to support United Way's Holiday Snack Pack Program. The Marist Youth contribution represents almost 30% of the total food distributed. We are deeply grateful for the generosity of these high school students and their sponsors. On behalf of the 100 children who will have food on the table because of your generosity, thank you!
